Damn, so Roye is ill again? Not good, as I was hoping for a possible US tour in the near future. Hope he gets well soon.

Just wanted to post SOMETHING in April, to see if anyone is still out there.
Birthdays are one option, past history of Nektar on certain dates is another. I did the "On this day in (1968-2003)" series on this forum many years back, it was a daily thing for a year or more... but then came the smart phones & tablets, at which time my interest in keeping the Nektar name alive began to wane with the absence of anything happening worth mentioning with ANY members of the band. On April 22 & 23rd, I did projections at the Earthday weekend festival out at Schuylkill Haven PA. 4 stages, 30 bands... great fun, great music, great effects, great people, great location. Next festival is "Mad Summer Meltdown" at the end of June. It's not a birthday.... but I felt the urge to activate the forum with a note to all four of you.... |

Hi Mick, Always good to hear from you. I check the forum fairly regularly but there doesn't seem to be much happening with Nektar at the moment but maybe this will change sometime soon? Have you heard Roye's latest solo piece, thinking of ordering it but haven't seen any reviews as yet. Regards Lance |

I remember the "On This Day" series, it was a great read, kept everyone coming back for more. Nice to hear you are still doing projections, I'm still doing some in the privacy of my home studio. I stay away from outdoor festivals but weather permitting I will try and make it up to Schuylkill Haven in June. Good to hear from ya.......Rich

Mick definitely keep up the posts, but as you say there seems to be little going on. Do you have any video to post from your recent shows?
I did purchase Roye's latest CD/DVD package, it's worthwhile, a solo acoustic concert with a couple of cameras that keep things interesting. It's interesting to hear classics like Astral Man played acoustically, as well as some of the more obvious acoustic songs from Down to Earth, plus Desolation Valley and 1-2-3-4! There's also a new song I think - The Game is Called Life. Let's hope something happens this year. I don't think I ever saw any reviews of the Cruise to the Edge - does anyone know of any, or whether it was worth going? |

Only 3 left? (thought for sure there were four of you still reading this...lol)...
anyhoo, for what it's worth, a few CttE reviews were posted on progressive ears, tho' I saw nothing about Nektar. Ron is drumming the occasional gig with Billy Hector and Billys band is getting great reviews around the Philly/NJ area with a new album out. BTW, This is the first time I've touched my PC since April... I'll check in again in June. Meanwhile for those of you connected... try facebook for opinionated Nektar news items.
