I guess some of us will have seen it, but Marbal has posted his version of 1971-11-13 on TTD:

http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/showthread.php?p=1696665

It's the show that has been offered as download from the website, but that one was MP3 sourced, even the FLACs, one step further down in generations, and not in the correct order, I believe. This new TTD version is the closest to the source you can get, and in proper FLAC.

Now I have several other recordings all from 1971 that have to be checked... Sandy's "Darmstadt 1971", the download we got from here through dropbox a few years back... Not enough details kept with them, so I lost track!

Jerry, this was the first show that we promoted ourselves, it was when we'd realized that in just two years, we'd outgrown the Underground club in Darmstadt and had influenced a huge local following.
We put up the posters well in advance and the tickets were cheap, which translated to more people than the capacity of the venue, also causing the police to institute crowd control... and for a group that was only two years old with only ONE album released, that kind of media publicity for Nektar was priceless.
The Nov 13th 1971 Bessunger Turnhalle show in Darmstadt was an audience tape (140mins).
I have a later copy of it listed as.....
G-day, Tab, 1234, DYBiMN, Opera, NDD, NNN, Cryin' (D-jam) into Oddysee into Porcelain Valley.
Tho' this was probably not the original set order.
BTW, I'm not subscribed to TTD, so I haven't seen that offer.
That ONE particular page in my 40 year old 1971 diary is missing (Nov 11th thru 17th ... gone)
so I don't have any listing of that original Darmstadt set or the details surrounding it.
Our audition for Peter Grant at the London Lyceum was on the 18th and the proposed Empire Pool Wembley gig w/ Zeppelin was to have been on the 19th... all documented and intact.
November 1971 was a big turning point in our rise to fame... we NOW needed bigger venues!

This is the info file:

NEKTAR -  Darmstadt, Bessunger Turnhalle  1971-11-13

Lineage: Reel to Reel --> Reel to Reel (security copy - thanx
god i did it, because the master did not survive the 40 years)
---> DAT ---> CD-wav ---> flac (level 6).

CD 1 :  Darmstadt, Bessunger Turnhalle 13.11.1971 - Part 1      (57:15)

Good Day                                                         08:00
Da - Da - Dum                                                    07:50
Variation about 'Drop In The Ocean' called: A Tab In The Ocean   17:45
including:
1 - 2 - 3 - 4       and                                          13:30
Do You Believe In Magic ?                                        04:55
Story of Space Opera :  Journey To The Centre Of The Eye
& Story of "Leider kann ich nicht Deutsch lesen"                 05:15

CD 2 :  Darmstadt, Bessunger Turnhalle 13.11.1971 - Part 2      (78:50)

Space Opera :  Journey To The Centre Of The Eye                  47:17
Cryin' In The Dark /                                             09:17
Odyssee  incl. Ron's On /                                        10:37
Porcelain Valley    (later called :  Desolation Valley)          11:37

CD 3 :  Darmstadt, Bessunger Turnhalle 13.11.1971 - Part 3      (07:30)

New Day Dawning            (Encore)                              07:30

Remarks: This is straight from my master-reel (security copy)>>>DAT>>>CD>>>HD
The show is also offered on Nektar's Homepage as mp3 & FLAC, but that FLAC is ripped from mp3's,
which makes no sense (& furthermore, it's one gen worse than this 1st gen-reel-transfer).
Also that version is without the German Stories which are very nice & funny for those with
a little talent for some German, of course.

What a great show this was. This was the 4th Nektar show we recorded (we = me & some school friends)
& this time we were able to sneak a reel-to-reel Grundig-machine in with automatic level adjustment,
which nicely covered also the quieter parts.
I kept the setlist as it was played, while Nektar putted "New Day" on CD 1,
which fits for 2 CD's (you are free to do so), but this was the correct flow of the show.
"New Day Dawning" was played as final encore.
Enjoy

Ah The elusive great recording / sound board of JTTCE. Maybe one day one will surface.

Thanks for the tip Jerry!

Wayne, you mean JTTCOTE was recorded through the soundboard from this show?
I could post this via wetransfer for anyone interested.

No on the recording of this show or any show with JTTCE  from any soundboard. I don't think any soundboards prior to 1974 survived. Maybe Mo or Mick knows if there are any?

In 1973, a carry case full of original Nektar live recordings was stolen from our parked band car in Amsterdam ..... if the thief knew what he was stealing, some may even surface one day.
Some were SBs, others were my lightshow tapes...  we would  play our prior nights' performances while in transit to the next gig, analyse it, then file it in the case until we needed more cassettes, but being the poor gypsy band we still were in 1973, we often re-recorded over the older tapes or ones that we didn't think were excellent.  That is why so few "early" recordings survived.... we were stupid... and seldom bought fresh cassettes to record our gigs. Hindsight is 20/20.

For those interested and not on The Trader's Den, I posted the set via wetransfer.com:

It will be available for download for about 2 weeks.
